So, to all the great men out there, who are looking to celebrate and come together to create change, here are a few “ManCation” ideas from Le Boat to help you take a break and focus on your well-being with friends and family!
Golf and Guinness Cruise in Ireland
Why not celebrate your day by booking a guy’s getaway boat rental on the Shannon-Erne? Here you and your buddies can choose from six-world-class golf courses like the PGA National Ireland Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club in Ballyconnell!
Celebrate a great game with a Guinness Pub Crawl! Start in Athlone Co. Westmeath, on the River Shannon, at Sean’s Bar, the oldest pub in Europe goes all the way back to 900 A.D. From Athlone, it is a 1.5hr drive on the M6 highway to Dublin. In Dublin, explore the Temple Bar Area on Fleet Street or check out Mother Kelly’s on Talbot Street for a pint with the locals. Finally, go back to where it all started at the Guinness Storehouse at St. James Gate for a brewery tour, views of Dublin from the seventh floor and a free pint of the black stuff! Last, but certainly not least, end your trip with a dinner show at the oldest pub in Dublin, The Brazen Head.
Kilts and Castle Tour in Scotland, UK
The Caledonian Canal is home to Scotland’s Great Glen Fault that cuts diagonally across the Highlands from Fort William to Inverness. This is the perfect setting for your adventurous and historic ManCation.
- Beginning in Fort William, embrace your inner warrior and climb the UK’s highest mountain Ben Nevis and explore Lochaber Geo Park.
- Travel to Castle Invergarry where you will see how the castle’s strategic position in the Great Glen was advantageous during clan warfare.
- Make your way to the historic hamlet of Fort Augustus with amazing views of Loch Ness. Visit the Clansman Centre where guides will demonstrate 17th century clan weaponry.
- Visit the remains of Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness where the most dramatic chapters of Scottish history have played out.
- Lastly don’t miss Inverness. The Capital of the Scottish Highlands was recently made famous by the historic drama Outlander. Visit Inverness Castle where in 1746 Bonnie Prince Charlie captured the castle but was defeated at the Battle of Culloden and the castle was destroyed. The new castle tower offers incredible 360-degree views over Inverness and River Ness.
Fishing and Beer Trail on the Rideau Canal, Ontario, Canada
This year the goal may be to relax and reunite with good friends. In that case, a fishing and beer tasting holiday with the fellows on the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal Waterway in Ontario, Canada is a great choice.
The waterway lies between Ottawa and Kingston, Ontario and we have mapped out a Craft Beer Trail between both locations. Make sure to stop at one of these breweries and stock up before heading our base in Smiths Falls. Once on board one of our fully equipped luxury Horizon Cruisers, you can moor your boat at one of these popular fishing spots, crack open an ice cold one as you relax on the pristine waterways and bond with your buddies!
